Lourdes Herrera is a 51-year-old woman from Havana, Cuba, who found her way back to stability after experiencing homelessness in Miami for approximately two years. After coming to the United States through the visa lottery and working in various positions throughout Miami, Lourdes faced housing challenges due to unmet mental health needs. In June 2024, she moved into her own apartment and is now receiving the support and care she needs to focus on her wellbeing. With dreams of one day living by the ocean, perhaps in a trailer on the beach or even on a boat, Lourdes looks toward the future with hope and imagination.
